POLAND + OKTOBERFEST 2027: WHEN THE DATES JUST MAKE SENSE
🍺 FIRST UP: FIGURING OUT OKTOBERFEST
After doing a lot of research over the years, I've learned that going to Oktoberfest itself isn't necessarily the difficult part. Figuring out the beer tents and getting the experience we want is where things get more complicated.
Yes, you can absolutely do Oktoberfest on your own. But getting reservations or finding seats in some of the popular tents—especially when you don't know exactly how everything works—can take a little more effort than we want to deal with.
For this part of the trip, we're thinking a tour group might actually be the better choice.
They can handle the part we don't particularly want to figure out, and Kim and I can concentrate on the important things.
Like which dirndl I'm going to wear, and THAT is something to take very serious!
We're currently researching our options and trying to decide which one feels right for us. I don't necessarily want someone planning our entire time in Munich. I just want someone who knows Oktoberfest to make the Oktoberfest part easy.
**UPDATE: OKTOBERFEST RESERVATIONS HAVE BEEN MADE!
We did it! We bit the bullet and bought a four-night package with Bucket List Events for Oktoberfest 2027!
The stars definitely aligned on this one, and we couldn’t be more excited!
One of the biggest reasons we decided to go with a package is that Bucket List Events takes so much of the stress out of planning Oktoberfest—especially when it comes to getting reservations inside the tents. Our package includes airport transfers, accommodations, one small-tent reservation, one large-tent reservation, and one local tour that we get to choose from several options.
Accommodations around Theresienwiese skyrocket during Oktoberfest, and the best options sell out quickly. With this package, that’s all taken care of for us—and we’ll be staying within walking distance of the Wiesn!
For something we’ve wanted to do for a long time, having the hotel, transportation, and those all-important tent reservations already handled feels pretty darn good.

🇵🇱 AND THEN THERE'S POLAND...
Poland is another rare trip where we're handing over most of the planning. Not because we couldn't plan it ourselves. We absolutely could. But sometimes? It's really nice to let someone else do all the work.
The only tour company Kim and I have traveled with before is You Can't Steal My Happy. We traveled through much of Iceland with them and had such a great experience that we've continued checking their upcoming trips to see where they're headed next.
When Poland appeared, we were interested. Apparently, so was everyone else.
Their trips can fill quickly, and when we booked Poland for October 2027 (in August 2026), Kim and I got the last two available spots. I'd say that was a pretty good sign.
So Poland is booked. Oktoberfest is being researched. And somehow a trip that started with Poland may turn into beer tents, Bavaria, and Poland all in one adventure.
And I have a feeling there will be a lot more added to this plan before we're finished.
