It’s figuring out what to pack, how to get around, what to book ahead, what’s worth spending money on—and all those little things you usually learn after you needed to know them. This is where I’m keeping the practical stuff. Tips, lessons learned, things I research, and notes I want to remember for the next trip.

The people matter more than the plan.
A great trip is even better when you're sharing it with people you love.
Have a plan if you lose your travel partner.
No cell service? Decide ahead of time where you'll meet if you get separated. Trust me—I've had to use this plan more than once.
Go back if you loved it.
There's no rule saying every trip has to be somewhere new.
Don't schedule every minute.
The café you didn't know existed may end up being your favorite part of the day.
Pack less than you think you need.
You will not suddenly become a person who wears six different pairs of shoes just because you're in France.
Leave room in the suitcase.
You know you're going to buy something.
Always know how you're getting back.
Wandering is considerably more fun when you know the last train hasn't already left.
Take the picture.
Even when your hair looks terrible, you're tired, and nobody particularly wants another picture. Someday you'll be glad you took it.
Screenshot the important stuff.
Because naturally the moment you desperately need a confirmation number will be the moment your phone decides it doesn't have service.
There isn't one right way to travel.
Use the tips that make your trip easier. Ignore the ones that don't. Pack what you need, plan what matters, and leave enough room for something to go completely off schedule. Because sometimes that's the story you'll still be telling ten years later.
